She is a nominated trustee of the British Lymphology Society – a powerful charity providing a dynamic voice in the best practice guidelines for Lymphoedema, Lipoedema and Venous insufficiency related conditions.

Also has been a Clinical Advisor for Haddenham Healthcare Ltd – working closely with NHS lymphoedema services to help get the best compression for patients with complex presentations.

Advanced Post Surgical MLD is also a passion for Karen and her team.

She has helped write the LTA Post Surgical Training course and Scar Therapy for Lymphoedema Course.

She has worked with CC Kat & Co in Edgbaston Birmingham, treating patients who have had all aspects of plastic surgery including liposuction, vaser lipo, abdominoplasty, breast augmentation & mastopexy, facial surgery, brachioplasty & thigh lifts.

She has also trained with Petra Erving from The Aftercare Academy – networking and bridging professional standards.

By keeping abreast with current educational updates and applying these in treatment protocols The Lighter Touch is a centre of excellence in holistic approaches to health care.

Years of Qualifications

Qualified in Aromatherapy & Therapeutic Massage, followed by Manual Lymph Drainage & Multi-layer & Two layer Compression Bandaging at the Dr. Vodder School in Austria in 2000. This was recognised by the NHS as a valuable treatment and so Karen became the sole NHS Lymphoedema Practioner in Worcestershire for many years.

Now working with NHS patients, privately funded and BUPA registered patients. She is currently a full DLT/CDT member of MLD UK and the British Lymphology Society (BLS) & Lipoedema UK.

In 2004 she trained in Colon Hydrotherapy and is a member of the Colonic Association (ARCH) and CNHC (Complementary & Naturopathic Heatlhcare Council) and FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapies). She is trained to use Photobiomodulation, Low Level Laser, Deep Oscillation, Kinesiotaping, Sports Massage & Injury and Bowen Technique.

Karen Cooper

Always ahead of new developments.

Karen has been involved in an exclusive training course at the LTA for the recognition and full management of Lipoedema, an inflammatory fat condition. The course - Specialist Lipoedema Management contains a plethora of knowledge and skills in order to assess stages of lipoedema and management protocols.

Hilary

I am a lymphoedema and lipoedema practitioner, as well as a holistic and sports massage therapist, dedicated to helping people feel more comfortable and confident in their bodies. I am passionate about supporting clients on their individual wellbeing journeys and use a range of specialist skills to ease discomfort and restore overall balance.

I have a particular interest in scar therapy and experience of working with a wide variety of scars, including oncology related scars, caesarean and surgical scars, burns, amputations, and smaller scars. I love combining different therapies to create truly bespoke treatments, carefully tailored to each person’s unique needs.

Alongside my professional work, I am a mum of two and an animal lover, sharing my life with horses, cats, and dogs.

Sophie

I’m Sophie, founder of Sophie Arrowsmith colonics. I’m a RICTAT registered Colonic Hydrotherapist working in Malvern, Worcestershire. I’ve always had a passion for health and wellbeing with a particular interest in gut health.

Since starting my colon hydrotherapy practice this passion has only strengthened and helping my clients improve their gut health is important to me giving me the motivation and drive to continue on this journey.

Prior to training in colon hydrotherapy I qualified as a Nutritional therapist with the College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2018. This was when my interest in using nutrition and holistic approaches to improving health first started.

This training I believe has only strengthened my colon hydrotherapy practice and enhances my ability to offer the best possible service I can for my clients.
