Presenting at the Foot and Liverpool in conjunction with Karen Friett from the LSN.
We presented to Podiatrists and foot care specialists on the importance of recognising and referring patients with lymphoedema and other skin care issues.
Primary lymphoedema is often picked up from changes in the feet. Many skin conditions and fungal infections in the feet and toes can lead to complex issues such as systemic fungus or cellulitis.
March is LymphedemaAwareness Month
We raised awareness and funds for Worcester Prostate Cancer Support Group by running a Yoga for Men workshop.
This was so successful it has fuelled a regular group of Yoga just for Men – taught by the inspirational live wire Fiona Narburgh.
These are running in regular intervals and still have some availability to attend –contact Fiona on 07855276104.

We also started a Gentle Pilates Group with the astoundingly talented Danielle Leppier. With Danielle’s help we raised funds for the Lymphoedema Support Network (LSN)
This is a charity which supports everyone with lymphoedema. It brings us up to date with latest research and ways to navigate the lymphoedema pathways.
She now runs a regular gentle Pilates group which is both healing and wholesome. Contact Danielle on 07903817358

Dr Vodder MLD Review
Every 2 years we must renew our MLD skills and review our bandaging techniques and knowledge.
2026 was my 14th review! Originally trained with Hildegard Whittlinger at the Dr Vodder Schule in Walschee in Tirol, Austria. I have returned many times for my review. This year I decided to stay in the UK and do it in Christ church, Dorset.
A lovey group of old and new faces, including the lovely Mulu Thomson –Originally, we trained at about the same time at Vodder MLD - and both still going strong
Worcester Breast Unit Haven Generously provided a one day LIVE WELL AFTER BREAST CANCER WELLNESS DAY for people affected by Breast Cancer.
We were invited to display on what we do at The Lighter Touch. We were visited by many ladies affected with Lymphoedema or other complications following Breast Cancer treatment. We brought along compression garments and were able to let people understand the importance of correct diagnosis and management of lymphatic failure. We discussed garment measuring and how we can prescribe compression garments, foams and donning/doffing aids.

Never one to sit still, I contacted Petra Erving from The Aftercare Academy and attended her Advanced Aftercare Training Course at the Bollin Clinic in Altrincham, Manchester. Networking with other therapists and nurses. Sharing and gleaming information which only helps support our lovely patients. What a delight working with surgeon Mr Saddique and watching him do an abdominoplasty with liposuction and abdominal hernia repair. Plastic surgery is advancing with great strides and if we want to assist our patients with healing and recovery, we need to first understand their surgical journey and what techniques they have undergone.
